Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate: the end of a lineage

Since its launch, in 2018, we have known several versions. The last one is literally the one that writes the end point of its lineage: Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate. The surname of the two-seater sports car reveals to us that Aston Martin’s DBS line is coming to an end and it does so with a brief ‘teaser’ in which it gives the first clues about a model that we will soon discover.

The current Aston Martin DBS arrived in 2018 as Aston Martin DBS Superleggera, although, over time, it was renamed simply Aston Martin DBS. The Aston Martin Vanquish was chosen to take the place, but it was not the first DBS. Between 1967 and 1972, off the Gaydon production lines came the DBS and the DBS V8. More recently (between 2007 and 2012) the Aston Martin DBS V12 did the same, the flagship model of the brand based on the DB9.

Available in coupe and convertible versions, the Aston Martin DBS He has achieved something that very few achieve: agree to everyone. And it is difficult to resist its elegant silhouette, its 725-horsepower V12 biturbo and the spell of its sound.

499 units

The debut of the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate is scheduled for early 2023: although the exact date has not yet been announced, it should not take too long to find out. The British brand has announced that they will only manufacture 499 units without advancing, yes, its price: everything indicates that it could be close to 350,000 euros.

Details about the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate are scarce, although the video released by the brand should give us an idea of what to expect. The British declare that they want to “outdo everyone” with which, they say, it will be the flagship of the lineage built by its Gran Turismo.

They further admit that the latest DBS will have “sharper dynamic focus and exquisite design” with unique details such as specific alloy wheels and quite possibly a restyled body kit with reworked aerodynamic components. In this sense, the images do not contribute much: beyond the name of the manufacturer, it is only possible to recognize the rear wing of the model tinted in green, the wheels or the light signature.

The sportiest and second most powerful

Based on the existing DBS, the configuration of the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate is likely to be an adapted (and improved) version of the 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that develops 725PS and has 900Nm of torque. An engine that is associated with an eight-speed automatic transmission and can reach speeds of up to 338 km/h.

However, the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate should raise the bar. It should be remembered that the limited edition Aston Martin DBS Superleggera 007generated 705 hp and 900 NM: performance with which it went from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and achieved a top speed of 340 km/h. The latest version of the DBS should be the sportiest in history and if it exceeds this bar, it would also be the brand’s second most powerful production model… until, this year, the Aston Martin Valhalla (1,000 CV) arrives. .
