Hyundai’s Porsche Taycan already has a price, it will not be suitable for all audiences but it is much cheaper than the competition

That Hyundai is giving its main European rivals a hard fight is a reality, and more so now that it is beginning to land its electric offensive. It does this through what has been crowned its flagship, the Hyundai Ioniq 6, a 100% electric sedan with 325 hp, more than 600 kilometers of autonomy and that is already priced at 54,995 pounds in England.

However, it must be nuanced. And it is that at the moment the English market is one of the few that already knows the disbursement to be faced by the Korean saloon, although not that of all its versions. Being more concrete, those almost 55,000 pounds are what Hyundai asks for the Ioniq 6 First Editiona special launch edition that comes with everything and more.

Just over 60,000 euros is what the new Hyundai Ioniq 6 costs in England

And we are talking about a car that comes with equipment made up of 20-inch wheels finished in matte black, mirror trim finished in glossy black, tartan upholstery and four exclusive colors for this launch version: Biophilic Blue Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Nocturne Gray Metallic and Gravity Gold Matte. All this is paired with the standard equipment offered by the Ultimate finish.the highest of the range in the English market.

As far as mechanics is concerned, the Ioniq 6 is available with an electrical mechanics of 325 hp and 605 Nm of torque, numbers that allow you to strike from 0 to 100 in 5.1 seconds. To this we must add the most transcendental aspect in an electric car, its battery, and that is that the First Edition boasts the most capable option with its 77.4 kWh -the other alternative is 53 kWh-.

With this battery, the Korean saloon manages to homologate an autonomy, under the WLTP cycle, of 614 kilometers, something also possible thanks to its incredible drag coefficient of just 0.21. In addition, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is capable of withstanding charging powers of up to 350 kW, which translates into very fast charges.

But we know that those £54,995, which in exchange is 63,843 eurosThey are not suitable for all pockets. But if we compare the price they ask for at the moment for which it sits as the top-of-the-range Ioniq 6 with the competition, we discover a considerable difference. Without going any further, the access Porsche Taycan, which declares 326 hp and 444 kilometers of autonomy, has a starting price of 91,024 euros.

The equivalent Mercedes-Benz EQE is the 350, a variant that boasts a mechanical scheme that produces 292 hp and is complemented by a range of 631 kilometers. Its price? 76,025 euros. And the closest for price-performance ratio is the Tesla Model 3, which in its extended autonomy variant declares 351 CV and a range of 626 kilometers, set that implies a price of 57,990 euros.

However, What about the price of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 in Spain? At the moment the firm has not given figures for our market, but taking into account that the Ioniq 5 has a starting price of 37,560 euros in Spain and 41,650 pounds in England, very similar prices without taking the change into account, we can expect that that of the Ioniq 6 is very similar.
