On the set of the new movie Mission: Impossible 7, Tom Cruise makes a spectacular maneuver jumps on a motorcycle into the void in a fjord in Norway. This is not surprising considering that the actor is a biker and that all the action scenes on the motorcycle are done by himself.
So, in all the Mission: Impossible movies, where he plays agent Ethan Hunt and there’s a motorcycle scene, there’s the actor without doubles.
Thus, in the latest movie from the MI universe, Dead Reckoning, the challenge is greater, since, as we mentioned, the American will have to jump on a motorcycle over a Norwegian fjord, off a cliff and rolling down a ramp.
The motorcycle would be Honda CRF250R 2019, and Cruise must throw her down the ramp and jump into the void. And not only that, she does it without a helmet, without a life net and without a safety cable. The agent Ethan Hunt will only carry a parachute that he must activate at the precise moment, when the motorcycle is separated from him, and at a considerable distance from the ground.

Although of course, obviously everything was planned. Well, the director of the film, Christopher McQuarrie, did not want surprises or tricks in this dangerous stunt.
Before building the ramp were carried out computer simulations in order to calculate its angle of inclination. After these tests, the best option was 20º, so that the bike and rider had enough time to separate with maximum safety.
After this, the ramp was built at the top of an inaccessible Norwegian fjord, where the materials had to be flown in by helicopter.

At the same time Cruise he trained on a small motocross track, where he did 13,000 jumps on the CRF. Furthermore, to complete the training he also performed 500 parachute jumps from a helicopter. Of course, always advised by an expert.
The first jumps were not made on the cliff but on a ramp “on land”, with safety cables, as well as a pool of foam rubber, to recover the motorcycle “and rider” if something had gone wrong.
when everything was ready the jumps into the void began on the cliff, only with parachute. For the shots, the 60-year-old actor jumped 5 times in the same day.
The result is spectacular, a total feat without computers or fake scenes. And this is only the first part of the trip, because the film has its second part in MI 8 where they promise to carry out many more crazy things and fantastic scenes.
Filming took place in 2020, in the midst of a pandemic, and the film is expected to be released this next 2023. So you will have to wait a little longer to appreciate the result of everything.
