Police arrest four minors who were part of a car theft gang in Maipú, Chile

Five people, four of them minors, were arrested for police from Chile after confirming that they formed a car theft gang.


Last Sunday at dawn, Carabineros and Citizen Security of the eastern sector of the capital Four minors and one adult were arrested. for him Vehicle Theft.

Although at the time of the arrest, the subjects were in the Vitacura commune, according to the information provided by Carabineros, the gang would have started a kind of “criminal tour” since last Friday night. They robbed in Maipú, then they moved to Independencia and later they committed crimes in Vitacura.

In the images of the Vitacura camera center it was possible to establish that three people had gotten out of the vehicle minutes before and that they fled down Santa María Avenue towards the west.

These three assailants were arrested inside a gas station and later captured two other members of the gang. The Prosecutor’s Office ordered that the defendants go to detention control for the crime of robbery with violence and intimidation.

The mayor of Vitacura, Camila Merino, pointed out that “Thanks to the coordinated work of security and Carabineros, it was possible to break up a gang that had already affected two other communes. We have to stop with the ‘criminal tours’”.
