The Mazda MX-5 looks to 2023 reviewing its range and premiering a new color

The fourth generation of the Mazda MX-5 looks to 2023 with a new revision, an update that has already been presented in the United Kingdom and that helps us to discover how will the Mazda MX-5 2023 that will soon be sold in Spain. Although we do not find great changes, this new revision of the Japanese roadster discovers the arrival of an unpublished painting to date and a redesign of the available finishes.

With the arrival of 2023, Mazda will expand the color palette of the MX-5, thus responding in part to the demand of many of its fans. A new paint named as Zircon Sand is added to the range of colors available, this being a light brown color that follows the trend of solid colors that we are seeing in other car manufacturers. That said, the addition of more and more striking colors is still the great pending issue of the Japanese roadster, since only the 30th anniversary edition and its orange paint have broken with the chromatic sobriety of the MX-5.

In the MX-5 2023 we also find a review of the range of finishes discovering 3 finishes: Prime Line, Exclusive Line and Homura. This change is an absolute novelty in the MX-5, but nevertheless it is inherited from the also new Mazda CX-60. With this revision of the finishes, Mazda seems to seek a homogenization of its ranges, more clearly differentiating the finishes. Although this change has not yet occurred in the MX-5 configurator in Spain, everything indicates that it will be visible in the coming weeks.

Regarding bodies and engines, the Mazda MX-5 ND will keep its portfolio intact, being able to choose between the Roadster version with an opening canvas roof and manual operation, or the RF version with a targa-type design and a fully electric retractable roof. The propellants will continue to be the Skyactiv-G gasoline, finding a 1.5 naturally aspirated 132 hp and a 2.0 naturally aspirated 184 hpboth available along with a 6-speed manual transmission.
