2020 Toyota Tacoma
If we can rely on the latest reports about the popular mid-size truck, it looks like the next year is about to bring us a fine amount of interesting changes. It looks like the 2020 Toyota Tacoma is an about to get a facelift. Of course, this particularly refers to aesthetics.
So, the new model would probably come with a couple of tweaks, mainly at the front end. Besides new styling, we could easily see novelties under the hood, since the latest reports suggest a diesel option in the offer. Given the upcoming changes, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma will probably come earlier than usual.
- Excellent off-road performances
- Good payload capacity
- Lots of equipment
- Efficient optional diesel engine
- Below-average fuel economy with gasoline engines
- Most rivals can tow more
In terms of the exterior design, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma should receive a facelift. This would mean a fine amount of changes, especially at the front end. Although we are still waiting for details, that would most likely mean modifications on areas such as the grille, front bumper, headlights etc. The rear end probably suffers too much.
Also, count on things like new color options, wheels etc. On the other side, the mechanical aspect fo the 2020 Toyota Tacoma is about to remain unchanged. It will continue with the same platform and chassis setup, which largely relies on the famous Hilux pickup truck, which is offered internationally.
We presume that the interior changes will be minimal. The 2020 Toyota Tacoma will continue with the same layout, which means a hi-quality cabin with lots of standard equipment.
The dashboard and surrounding areas are mainly made of hard, but highly durable plastics. When it comes to standard equipment, we expect a couple of additions, but the core should remain the same. That would mean a pretty long list of features, especially when it comes to safety systems and advanced driver aids.

One of the biggest novelties for the 2020 Toyota Tacoma should come under the hood. Latest reports suggest that the new model will be available with a diesel powertrain as well. Of course, we count on the same 2.8-liter unit that powers Toyota Hilux, which is good for about 180 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque.
Rest of the lineup should continue in the same way. Base models will feature a familiar 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine which is good for about 160 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Higher trims will be equipped with a larger 3.5-liter V6, which delivers around 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque.
2020 Toyota Tacoma Release Date and Price
This update will probably mean a little bit earlier arrival of the 2020 Toyota Tacoma. Still, we doubt it will happen before the last quarter of the year. Base models should go around $25,500.
