2020 Toyota Venza

2020 Toyota Venza

The Venza has been out of production for three years but that doesn’t stop car enthusiasts to speculate about the new model, which could possibly come back in a year or two, as 2020 Toyota Venza. Judging on the latest reports, it looks that something is really cooking in Toyota’s kitchen and that this revival is actually more than just a rumor. It looks like the Japanese manufacturer is going to re-introduce this nameplate, with numerous improvements, but also with some interesting design changes.

  • Spacious and practical cabin
  • Efficient engine
  • Lots of standard equipment
  • Still waits for the confirmation
  • Tough competition

2020 Toyota Venza rear

Allegedly, Toyota plans to bring back this nameplate. To remember you, the original model was introduced in 2007 and it supposed to compete with models like Subaru Outback. With a crossover/wagon layout, its main purpose was to deliver lots of practicality and comfort. However, it never managed to make some decent sales numbers. Therefore, the company plans to bring some interesting design changes with the 2020 Toyota Venza. The new model will once again combine characteristics of a crossover and wagon. Moreover, we will see some solutions borrowed from minivans. Such interesting combination should make new model higher and more passenger-oriented. Also, it will adopt the company’s new TNGA platform, which means a lot of weight savings and significantly improved overall efficiency.

The interior is one of the aspects that will have to come with significant improvements if Toyota wants to make this model successful. As we already mentioned, the new model will borrow some minivan design characteristics. Therefore, we can count that the new model will be higher, which indicates a more passenger-friendly cabin. This means we could see a lot of similarities with Toyota Sienna, especially in terms of overall cabin layout, seating position and similar things. Of course, we expect to see a full load of standard equipment already in base models, including the company’s amazing Safety Sense suite and other driving aids.

This aspect shouldn’t bring many surprises. We expect 2020 Toyota Venza to feature company’s familiar units. Most likely, base models would stick to four cylinders. It could be either 2.5-liter atmospheric or 2.0-liter turbo-four. On the other side, higher trims should come with a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine, probably tuned to somewhere around 280 horsepower. Some reports also suggest a hybrid powertrain in the offer as well. We are pretty sure it would be the same system that powers the new Camry. It consists of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a couple of electric motors, for a total output of 205 horsepower.

2020 Toyota Venza Release Date and Price

Although there are many reports that suggest 2020 Toyota Venza’s arrival already in the next year, the fact is that this model still waits for the official confirmation. If it ever arrives, base price would probably go around $30,000.
