2021 Lexus LX 570
Despite the huge popularity of crossovers, traditional body-on-frame models still dominate the full-size SUV segment, even among luxury brands. The LX has always been one of the most capable competitors in the class, thanks to impressive off-road performances and unparalleled reliability ratings. These days, everyone is talking about the redesign. The new Tundra is on its way, so we expect to see the rest of the company’s BoF lineup soon after. Along with the new Land Cruiser, we count on a new generation of its Lexus sibling. However, it looks like we will have to wait for a little bit more. The 2021 Lexus LX 570 is about to remain unchanged.
- Unparalleled reliability ratings.
- Exceptional off-road performances.
- Powerful V8 engine.
- Outdated interior design.
- Poor fuel economy.
As we’ve just mentioned, the 2021 Lexus LX 570 will carry on in the same way, while the redesign will happen a little bit later. Therefore, we count on the same design characteristics. This SUV shares most of its parts with the legendary Land Cruiser.
The two models are pretty much identical in terms of mechanics, while the LX comes with its own aesthetics, based on the brand’s current design language, which includes the famous spindle grille as well. For the next year, we don’t expect anything important in terms of novelties.
Considering that the 2021 Lexus LX 570 will probably be the last model year of the current generation, we don’t expect changes on the inside either. The current generation has been around since 2008. Therefore, it looks a little bit outdated compared to a much younger competition. Still, that doesn’t change the fact that the whole cabin is made of top-notch materials. Also, functionality is on a pretty high level. There is plenty of space in all rows, as well as a fine number of small-item storage areas. The cargo volume is pretty decent as well.
Naturally, the powertrain department won’t bring changes for the 2021 Lexus LX 570 either. It will continue with a well-known 5.7-liter V8, which is good for 383 horsepower and 403 pound-feet of torque. It is powerful, but also very thirsty, so it’s no wonder that this large SUV is probably the thirstiest model in the class. Fortunately, that will change with the upcoming redesign, as the next-generation LX will most likely feature a hybrid powertrain, based on a smaller and more efficient V6 engine.
2021 Lexus LX 570 Release Date and Price
No changes also mean no surprises in terms of launch date and price. We expect to see 2021 Lexus LX 570 sometime late in the next year, with the starting price of around $86,000.
