2021 Toyota Harrier
Designed exclusively for the Japanese market, the Harrier is one of the rare models in Toyota’s lineup that features a distinctive styling. Despite the badge, it is a pretty luxurious vehicle, which has a lot of things in common with the Lexus RX. Therefore, we expect that both models will come redesigned in the next year. This will be a complete overhaul, which seems natural, considering that the current generation has been around since 2013. Therefore, we count on a completely new design, with tons of novelties in every aspect. The new 2021 Toyota Harrier should hit the market sometime in the third quarter of the next year.
- Completely redesigned.
- Upscale cabin.
- Efficient powertrain.
- Loads of safety features.
- For the domestic market only.
- High price tag.
Given the age of the current generation, you may presume that the Harrier is still waiting to switch to a new TNGA platform. That will finally happen with this redesign and that will definitely big on of the biggest changes of this redesign. The new architecture provides better driving characteristics, as well as improved efficiency.
Of course, we will see a new hybrid powertrain and various other improvements. Naturally, this redesign will bring new styling too. We believe that the new model will once again come with a distinctive styling that doesn’t have too much in common with the rest of the lineup. After all, this has always been a trademark of this crossover.
When it comes to interior design, we count on a completely new cabin layout. Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is a new dashboard design, which should have a lot of similarities with the next-generation RX. The 2021 Toyota Harrier’s interior will be luxurious and pretty stylish as well.
Moreover, it should also be more spacious compared to the current generation. Allegedly, the new model will gain a couple of inches in wheelbase, which promises more legroom, particularly in the third row.
When it comes to the powertrain, the current model is available in two variants. Base models feature a familiar 2.0-liter turbo-four, which is good for about 235 horsepower. For this occasion, we could see a slight power boost, though the details are still unavailable.
However, we believe that the new hybrid powertrain will be far more interesting. Of course, we count on a new 2.5-liter-based system, the same one that powers the new RAV4, which is good for about 220 horsepower and features impressive fuel economy.
2021 Toyota Harrier Release Date and Price
