2021 Toyota Highlander
The completely redesigned Highlander is coming as the 2020-year model. It features a full load of novelties, starting from a new design, new powertrain options and much more. Therefore, we don’t expect to see any particular novelties for the second production year. The 2021 Toyota Highlander is about to come with familiar design characteristics and features, though we won’t be surprised if we see a couple of additions in terms of new standard features and similar things.
- Spacious and comfortable cabin.
- Long list of standard safety features.
- Excellent fuel economy with hybrid model.
- Strong V6 engine.
- Higher starting price than most rivals.
- Hybrid isn’t as fast as it used to be.
As we’ve just mentioned, no one expects bigger changes for the second production year. The 2021 Toyota Highlander is about to continue with same design characteristics, which were introduced just recently with the 2020 model year.
Compared to the previous generation, the new model features for about 2.5 inches longer wheelbase, which promises more space on the inside. In terms of the styling, the overall shape is kinda familiar, though there is a completely new face, with takes a lot of inspiration from smaller models like RAV4, but also comes with completely new headlights and grille design. For the next year, we could possibly see new color options and similar things. Other than that, things will remain the same.
When it comes to interior design, the overall layout remains familiar. Once again, we will see a typical three-row crossover, which is slightly more spacious and practical than previous generations. Also, the recent redesign has brought a completely new dashboard design, which makes the cabin look more attractive.
More importantly, the new model is full of advanced tech features. Of course, there is a new infotainment system, with smartphone integration and all other goodies. More importantly, the SUV comes with a full load of safety features. Some of the highlights are things like automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic high beams.
Changes under the hood are not expected. The 2021 Toyota Highlander will carry on with two familiar engine options. Base models will feature the same 3.5-liter V6, which is good for about 295 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. Of course, there is a brand-new hybrid powertrain as well. It features notably less powerful than the previous generation but on the other side, mpg ratings are impressive.
2021 Toyota Highlander Release Date and Price
Considering that we probably won’t see bigger changes, the 2021 Toyota Highlander should hit the market sometime late in the next year. When it comes to the price, we are still waiting for the details for the new generation, but we presume that the base model will go around $32,000.
