Singer’s brilliant homage to the first Porsche 911 Turbo

Singer Vehicle Design needs no introduction today. This atelier for lovers of exclusive cars is not dedicated to modifying cars, it is dedicated to creating works of art taking as a starting point the Porsche 911 of the 964 generation. We have already been impressed with the incredible Singer DLS, and this time Singer delves deep into Turbo territory. The Singer Turbo Study is a tribute to the first Porsche 911 Turbothe 930. And as usual in the brand, it is a true rolling dream.

Although externally the Singer Turbo Study could perfectly pass for a Porsche 930 Turbo G-Model, in truth, still based on the Porsche 964. Singer uses this base for being the perfect bridge between the classic 911 and the modern 911, retaining the proportions of the first 911, its analog character and its air-cooled engines. The first novelty is that Singer has turbocharged Mezger design engineusing two turbochargers from the current Porsche 992 Turbo.

Pays homage to the classic Porsche 911 Turbo from the eighties. In Europe, they already reached 330 CV.

The result is an evolution of the classic 3.8-litre six-cylinder boxer engine, with a power over 450 hp. This power can be “adjusted” based on customer preferences. The power it is sent to two or four wheels through a manual change of six relations. At the tuning level, it is a highly evolved car compared to a temperamental Porsche 930 Turbo. However, Singer affirms that it is not a rabid car, since its feel is that of a true GT, a car that is not afraid of long road trips.

Externally it is a car that only has the doors in common with a 964. All the other parts are new, and all have subtle differences compared to a Porsche 930. Bigger Fuchs style rimsa huge “whale tail”, flared wheel arches… it’s a Porsche 911 Turbo, but all the changes set it apart substantially from the 930. And the same goes for the interior, where it takes place a tribute to the first 911 Turbo, not an imitation or a recreation. The end result is chilling – in a good way.

Among the materials used in the interior we find cork, wood or granite.

Some sculptural seats with electrical adjustment, a retro-looking steering wheel, the analog touch of all the controls, the very complete instrumentation… and the detail of a modern screen, very discreet and integrated into the center console, for the infotainment team. Of course, the driver can enjoy ABS, traction control, power steering and modern climate control. Its price? If you have to ask, it’s not for you—knowing Singer and the quality of his work, it’s likely to run into seven figures.
