While the truck’s design remains a mystery, according to sources the model will ride on the Small Wide 4×4 LWB platform that underpins the Jeep Compass and Commander. The 1200’s engine options are expected to be shared with the latter and this means we could expect a 1.3-litre Turbo Flex engine with 182 hp (136 kW / 185 PS) and 199 lb-ft (270 Nm) of torque. . It could be joined by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel delivering 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque.
As a side note, the 1200 is not expected to be offered in the United States, however Mike Koval Jr., Ram’s CEO, has previously stated that a midsize truck is being considered and dealers could be shown it. a concept at some point this year.
